Festival of Trees
Plans are underway for the 10th Annual Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Friends of the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library. This display will be held from November 18th to December 21st at the library and will be a great way to promote business and community program awareness for your organization as well as support a great cause—the activities of the Friends of the Library.
The Friends of the Library organization was established to assist the library in promoting its programs and services. In addition to supporting Friends’ activities throughout the year, monies raised by the Festival of Trees will help support worthy causes such as the Helping Hands Christmas Angel Tree—a program that provides disadvantaged children with new books as well as toys, clothes, and other gifts.
There are other benefits to the Festival of Trees experience, too. It’s a great way for tree decorators to showcase their artistic talents and to meet new and old friends as they pop in to experience this spectacular event.
All are welcome to come in to see the trees, vote for their favorites, and soak up some incredible Christmas atmosphere. And, bids can be placed during the silent auction, which concludes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st. These beautifully decorated trees will then be sold to the highest bidders.
Please refer to the attached guidelines and complete an entry form as soon as possible. (Forms are also available at the library.) Since the library can only accommodate so many trees, spaces will be reserved for the first 25 respondents who return their entry forms. Individuals and families are eligible to sponsor a tree. We look forward to your participation.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
